So we're getting down to the wire. Baby Simon will be here soon. My wife's belly has officially bypassed my fat gut, and she's having little "issues". Not bad issues, just little issues. Like numbness/pain in her hand. Snoring loudly, keeping me awake....and she has to sleep on her left side, so that means she's snoring RIGHT IN MY EAR. Plus it's hard for her to get comfortable at night, and she's tossing and turning all the time. If you know my wife, she's not a very gentle individual, so when she tosses and turns, the whole bedroom tosses and turns. The window, the furniture, even the dogs are like, "What the....?"
The best part about this pregnancy with her, are the cravings of food. Not weird cravings.....just random cravings at weird times. Here are some random text messages from her:
8:53AM: I want Picnic Chicken.
(this is a certain dish from a restaurant by our house)
4:56PM: Oh My God!!! Wegman's is out of hot pretzels! NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Email today: I want a tomato sangwitch and gravy fries.
Plus add some lollipops to the cravings. Hot wings (which I'll gladly enjoy with her). Around Easter all she wanted was salad. LOTS OF SALAD. And I believe she has gone through about 38.6 GALLONS of Farmer's Iced Tea.
Then there are the odd, random text messages and emails.
"Bathe in the river! I cleaned the bathroom!"
"What are the measurements for Simon's room? I'm at Ollie's and I'll fill you in later. DON'T PANIC!!!!"
"I want to go to Canada".
All-in-all, this has been a great pregnancy for her. Minor nausea, minor aches and pains, minor ankle swelling. Plus, she looks fantastic! She's got this glow about her! And no, it's not a glow of anger at ME!!!! God Bless her....she's going GREAT!!!!
Pretty soon. Simon will be here pretty soon. I'm excited. She's excited. And as soon as he learns how to use his thumbs, he's going fishing with me.
Now I have to find a baby motorcycle helmet and leather jacket, and we'll be all-set!
