Simon Sez GET ME OUTTA HERE!

Baby watch is over! Little Simon is here! He was born 2 days past due, and ONLY because they (medical team) had to go in after him. He was NOT coming out on his own. Here are the quick details....born 6/22/10 at 7:12PM. He was 7 pounds...14.5 ounces and 21.5 inches long. He's got a perfectly round head and he's JUST like his father with the attitude.

In a nutshell.....went in Sunday night (due date) for the beginning stages of inducement. Monday....ALL DAY....my wife was being "induced", and NOTHING happened. I mean NOTHING. So, they hooked her back up Tuesday....and doubled the inducing process. Still....NOTHING happened. No contractions, no water breaking, no labor pains, no dilation, no NOTHING! Oh, wait, one thing did happen, her blood pressure kept rising. So that's when they decided to go in a get him. He didn't even drop down....he was swimming around in there and refused to do anything because he was happy. So one quick c-section, and lots of muscle relaxers later (for my wife...NOT me lol), Simon Jenkins was born.

That was on Tuesday, it's now Saturday, and when I get off the air, I'm going back to the hospital to take Mom and Simon home. And it's SCARY!!! But it's OK. :)

And for the record.....I changed more poopy diapers in the past few days than my wife! His first night there, he pooped while I was changing him....ON ME. Blech. But I wouldn't trade it in for the world. That's why there's soap.

Here are a couple more pics of the little guy. I'd write more, but I'm exhausted. :)

I'm the happiest guy on earth! And the most grateful too!

Bridges, Bikes, and Baby (soon)

So this past Saturday (6/12/10), when I got off the air on Magic 93, my friend Darren and I had plans to take a nice....................long...........................bike ride to.....................wherever! I love those rides. Just picking back roads, side roads, stopping every so often to look at something we've never seen before, and just relax. This long ride was just like the others, except this time I took pictures. :)

After a little chain adjustment on my bike, we took off into the wild-blue-yonder, and our first stop was here.

From what I read, and remember, these are the only twin covered bridges in Pennsylvania. And they're almost in our backyard. Instead of me giving you all the history on them, if you're interested, here are some links.

It was really cool seeing these bridges. I never knew I enjoyed covered bridges until I was able to walk through these.
There was an area (very small but nice) that had two or three spots for grilling, some picnic tables, and a little playground for kids. Of COURSE what I liked was Huntington Creek ran under these bridges, and there was a nice deep hole for trout fishing. Which one of the locals decided to do that day.

We watched him catch about 4 creek chubs, but he did pull out two or three nice trout while we watched. I'm sure there were more, but we were too busy looking for the little bikers room. :)

After we left there, we just started riding, and next thing you know, we ended up at World's End State Park.

The place was JAMMED with people, and we just wanted to stretch our legs for a bit since we were sooooo far from home. HOME? I almost forgot.....my wife is STILL pregnant at HOME. Oh boy. I had to call her to see how she was. No phone service. No prob. There's a pay phone. I'll call collect. I tried 3 times and for some reason the phone just wasn't cooperating. So we boogied it back down the mountain until I could find phone service. Whew, she's OK.
Next stop, Ricketts Glen State Park. (Sorry, no pictures). There we took a nice walk down to the beach, watch some anglers, visited the little biker's room again, and it's time to go home.
We rode all the way back home, a total of about 140 miles, round trip, and boy was my butt sore. Numb actually.

Now for the baby update. He's not here yet. He's due on Father's Day, but I think he'll be late.
I won't get into the gory details, but I believe he'll be a Cancer, not a Gemini.

Anyway.....I probably won't be posting for awhile since he is almost here, but stick around, because you never know....he may show up tonight.
