Late Ice=Good Ice

First let me say.......I gave birth yesterday (Sunday 2/27/11). Oh yeah, I passed that kidney stone NATURALLY. It's out. Thank you God!!!!

Now, for the big reason of this post. Yesterday's ice fishing trip. Notice I haven't really been bragging/complaining about this year's ice fishing? That's because it's been pretty rough going. Granted, I caught fish every time I went out, but nothing to really brag about......until yesterday. :)

My friend Barry showed up at the house aroun 11:30, and we had to wait a bit because I felt that stone working its way up. It finally made an appearance, so off we went. The place we fished doesn't have a name. It's behind a church. Far away. That's all I know. Anyway, we got there around 1 o'clock and Barry had 8 holes punched in the ice quick. We set up our tip-ups and got our jigging gear ready. Barry then punched a million more holes and I picked one to start. Within an hour, I had over 30 decent bluegills on the ice.
A flag pops, and Barry pulls out a huge pickeral.
We continue jigging, 70-80 more blueg's, and another flag. I pulled a small largemouth out.
70-80 more blueg's, another flag, Barry lands a bigger pickeral.
70-80 more blueg's (yes...we were catching hundreds of bluegills and sunnys with a crappie tossed in there), another flag...another small largemouth for me.
We took a break from jigging, ate our hoagie, then took a little walk away from the holes to another spot on the pond. When we were sitting over there, I noticed one of our tip-ups popped so I started a slow walk over. Then I saw the WHOLE TIP UP start violently shaking. Now I'm RUNNING over. Barry's not far behind me as I'm yelling "THIS IS A BIG FISH BARR.....IT'S BIG!!" His response, "I don't have a gaff". Oh great. I saw the head under the ice and almost passed another kidney stone. I had to choose fast, stick my whole arm down the hole and risk getting my fingers bitten off, or just pull this fish up quickly and pray the line doesn't break. My fingers are too precious to me so I yanked and prayed. And landed the biggest pickeral of my life.
All-in-all, we had a wonderful day weather-wise, LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of fish, I'm talking hundreds of panfish, and 3 nice pickeral.
I'm hoping the weather doesn't break up the ice this week so we can go back there this Saturday.
Here are some pictures from yesterday.

DELICIOUS!!

And for those who are constantly asking me for updated Simon pictures, here are a couple from dinner Saturday night over at Aunt Nicole's house.

I'm VERY grateful for yesterday. The stone leaving my body, all those fish, and a great kid.

Thanks for reading.

Oh, btw, I read "The Magic" from Andrew Hannon's THIRTEEN Volume One. If you want to know about it, and what happened, drop me an email, or leave me a comment. tom@magic93fm.com

Pain

So Thursday morning (2/24/11), I get to work and something just doesn't feel right. A bit of discomfort in my lower left back. My thought was that I slept wrong, or pulled something shoveling all the snow we got a few days earlier.
Well, within an hour, the pain was so overwhelming, I was getting woozy, and I could barely stand up. Plus, I felt I had to use the bathroom, but when I tried, nothing came out.
I ended up at the ER, and come to find out....kidney stones. Oh yeah.....that was a pain I don't wish on ANYONE. Needless to say, I spent the majority of the day in the ER, CT Scans, fluids pumping through, and they're still in there. It's now Saturday, and they're still there. Luckily, the pain has subsided, (they dropped into the bladder according to the Urologist), but they're still in there. So now, I have to drink water like it's going out of style and when I use the little DJ's room, I have to go through a filter.

So far, nothing.
I have a follow up CT Scan/Xray in two weeks, so hopefully they'll be gone, or they have to go in after them. I'm NOT looking forward to that!
Say a prayer that the water will force these puppies out and I don't have to go through all that.
That's it for now. That's what's been going on.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to pee. (again, LOL)

Random Photos from "My Pictures" 2

So back in October of `09, I did the original random pictures post.

I think enough time has gone by to do it again for the simple fact I have accumulated OOOODLES more pics. And also, because of this post.

What I do is, hit the 'Add Image' button up top, go to "My Pictures", scroll really fast and click on a photo at random. Then post it. Then maybe tell a little story about it. Hope you like it.

So without further ado.....Random Photos from "My Pictures". (Part 2)

Hahahahahahaha, that's the pic I use in forums when I want to be a jerk! A troll, if you will. It's my pet peeve when people use all caps in everyday 'computer' talk. Because you SCREAMING AT ME WILL GET ME TO UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING!!!

Next.

THAT is beautiful. That's Toby's Creek in the Back Mountain along the Dallas walking trail. If you like to walk, I highly suggest walking that trail. Start across from Pizza Perfect and walk all the way to Luzerne. It's a beautiful walk, and the views are out of this world. Oh man, I miss the warm weather. That groundhog needs glasses.

That shot was back from November 2010. WOW....in just a short time has the little man changed. And he keeps on changing every day.

Well, I HAD to get him on the ice with me in the first year of his life. Of course he probably won't remember it, but I can say, as a proud father, my kid was on the ice with me this year. Granted, he was only out there with me for five minutes, but he was there! :)

My motorcycle. Ah, did I already mention I can't wait for Spring?

Sushi. Yummy, delicious, filling, sushi.

My secret fishing hole last spring. Oh yeah, I can't wait for spring. The smell of snow melting, of plants growing, of the fresh air wafting through the open kitchen window to air out the baby smell LOL. OK, I've officially had enough of winter. I'm done.

Chickens. Hillside Farm's Chickens. That's a funny word. Chicken. Say it 15 times a bunch of different ways....chick-en...chickennnnnnnnn.....chhchchchchchchchchicken. Ha ha. Bazooka is another funny word. Ooooo, chicken bazooka. THAT would be funny.

Ok, that's enough for today. I have to get work done. Oh, quick interjection....Saturday (2/12/11) after I get off the air on Magic 93, I'll be at Mohegan Sun Arena's box office for when the Elton John tickets go on sale to.....ready?....give away FRONT ROW TICKETS to the show!!! This is going to be HUGE. I can't wait. Stop by and register, say 'hi', and thanks for listening to Magic.

Have a great day....I hope Spring arrives soon. Remember...attitude of gratitude!
