Nothing too Special except Sunglasses

Nothing spectacular happened over the weekend. I'm just in the mood to write down some stuff. And share some pictures.

Saturday: Worked on Magic 93 6a-10a. Went home. Michelle Taylor (ex morning show host on 97.9X, now works for Metro Traffic in Philly) came up for a visit. It was GREAT seeing her again. Michelle, Mindy, Simon and my Sister-In-Law and Neice all went out galavanting Saturday. I stayed home and got a nap that I so needed. When I arose from the nap, my phone was beeping, and this picture was on it.

Coolest baby in the world right there.

Speaking of Simon, he's still not 100% after this past week's terrible cold. His belly is still not all that great. Thank God his fever is no longer, but he's still on and off with the crankyness.
I took this picture yesterday.

Still cool!

Yesterday, my friend Darren asked me if I'd give him a hand trimming a maple tree in his yard. This maple tree is HUGE. I'm thinking maybe 75 feet high. All I really had to do was look at it from a distance, tell him which branches to cut, and then help him clean up. I haven't done THAT much manual labor since Fall. It was good though...I needed the exercise.
Look carefully, you'll see Darren in the tree.

That took all day. But I really enjoyed being outside even though it was cold.
Speaking of cold....than darn groundhog was not only wrong...he was VERY WRONG!!! Usually it's 6 more weeks of winter...it's been 8 since they ripped him out of that hole. I guess we need this crappy weather though so we can be grateful and appreciate the nice weather more. Think about it, if it were warm all the time, we'd totally not enjoy it as much. So I guess I'm grateful for the cold.....I'm just sick of it. LOL.

That's it for now....very busy week ahead. Hopefully you can be grateful for something today.

WELCOME BACK SPRING!!!

Yeah right.
It's officially Spring (according to the calendar), yet this is what I woke up to this morning.

That groundhog is a LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, will someone please go and shovel/plow my driveway and clean off my deck?

Monday....Stress...Etc.

So I thought for sure spring was here for good. Beautiful weather on Friday...a little chilly on Saturday, but almost perfect on Sunday.....then I wake up this morning and have to shovel 4 inches of snow and ice and water from my deck.........AGAIN! Ugh.
OK, whatever with the weather. Here's some stuff that happened over the weekend.
First, a tip for those with gas grills (or charcoal). Make sure you have ALL the grease and grime cleaned from everywhere. Do this cleaning at least once a month if you use your grill as often as I use mine. If you don't......

Isn't that nice? Well...look on the bright side...I don't have to clean any of the grease off it now do I? LOL.

Got my motorcycle uncovered on Saturday, and I washed/waxed it. Now I just have to put air in the tires, change the oil, and wait for a fairly nice day to go for a ride. I also need new tires altogether, or it won't pass inspection. Plus, tires are really important. ;)

Nothing else major happened this weekend, but last night was the icing on the cake. There's ANOTHER stomach bug going around, and this time Simon got it. Luckily he's not throwing up, but oh boy was he screaming bloody murder last night. God bless my wife. She was up almost all night with him...just holding him, rocking him, and helping him get any gas out that needed to get out. He's doing a BIT better this morning, but he's still cranky. I have to say, my wife can handle this stuff wonderfully! I was trying to comfort him, and he was screaming. He would not relax. Well, no duh..he's got a belly ache. Dad didn't do too good. I also realize I need MUCH more work to handle situations like this. She was holding him, rocking him, talking nice and quiet, and being a super, comforting Mom. I was in the other room feeling helpless, sad, upset, and stressed. Again, thank God Simon has ONE parent who's good under those kind of conditions. Now, if he gets a cut, or a scrape, or has to get shots or something, I'm OK with that. I know, clean the wound, bandage it up, and he'll get better. But the screaming because of something I couldn't see was killing me. In due time I guess.

Anyway, my morning today started with me getting a KUB X-Ray for a follow up due to the kidney stone(s) a few weeks ago. Ooodles of Doctor's appointments this week. Can't WAIT to see what comes of THIS. (smell the sarcasm?)

Gratitude of the day: Calm, cool, collected Mom at home with sick child. X-Ray went quickly...didn't have to wait a long time at the hospital. It's almost lunch time. :) Snow is melting as fast as it fell. I'm sure there's more, but I need to get back to work. Thanks for reading.

Be grateful....it helps get ya through the tough times. ;)

Facebook

So I finally signed up for Facebook. Yeah yeah yeah...I know, it's about time. Back off OK?! LOL.

I'm enjoying the smart-alec comments from friends......IE:

And wow, 58 friends in a day? Who do you think you are, Charlie Sheen?
March 8 at 4:19pm · Tom Jenkins Oh wait, they're still coming. WINNING!

The things that get to me though are.......what's with the 'poke' feature? Virtually 'poke' someone? It's annoying to poke someone in real life....why would you want.....ah, nevermind.
I also love (sarcasm here) the people who sign on to facebook once a day, and within those 15 minutes they're on, they post 34.2 links to news stories they disagree with. Then sign off. OK, thanks for sharing.....I guess.

Anyway, you can find me on facebook now. I don't do a LOT of stuff on there, just read and converse with friends via message.

Simon is learning to drink from a glass.

Wow, no real direction on the blog today. I'm tired. I want spring. I'm done.

Thanks for reading. :)
